Life can bring moments when thoughts and emotions feel overwhelming.

The greatest part of our daily actions and emotional life is the result of hidden motives that escape our observation. Past experiences largely shape who we are and continue to affect our adult world.

I can help you connect with yourself on a deeper level and gain insights into your experiences, and move towards a richer, freer, and more creative existence.

About Me

IMG_1860.jpeg

I am a psychodynamic and psychoanalytic psychotherapist with over ten years of clinical experience working with adults, including young adults, across various institutional settings, notably the NHS. Fluent in both English and French, I provide therapy and supervision in both languages. My practice addresses a wide range of psychological challenges, from everyday pressures to complex emotional difficulties that may arise in the context of family crises. I have a particular interest in issues such as loss, mood disorders, family conflict, maternal neglect, privilege and abandonment, trauma, identity, expatriation, and culturally mixed family dynamics. While my training is grounded in the British object-relations school, my approach is shaped by both classical and contemporary psychoanalytic theories, and is informed by a systemic perspective.

I am a registrant of the BPC, a member of the FPC, and APP within the NHS. I am  accredited with the BACP (MBACP Accred). I also hold an MA from the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, along with a post-qualification certificate in supervision. I meet the BPC's eligibility requirements for training therapists.

I continue to engage in ongoing professional development in the UK and France.

About Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy

Psychoanalytic treatments are evidence-based forms of talking therapy that are effective for common  mental health conditions such as depression, eating disorders, anxiety and emotional and relationship difficulties.

Depending on your clinical or training needs, your engagement and availability, sessions may take place once, twice, or up to three times per week. Alternatively, they may be scheduled every other week, where appropriate and in line with personal circumstances.

Psychoanalytic therapy alleviates psychic pain and improves the lives of many people, with long-lasting effects.

The first session

After you first get in touch, we'll arrange one or two initial consultations, so you can tell me what is bringing you to therapy. From there we'll decide together whether to begin ongoing work, either on a short or longer term basis.

The therapeutic process

Sessions last fifty minutes. Therapy may be
short-term (weekly or every other week), lasting a few weeks, or open-ended.
Short-term therapy tends to focus on immediate external difficulties and problem solving. Long-term therapy is aimed at exploring  deeply rooted or long-standing issues, accompanied by a desire for lasting change.

The couch

The couch can make it easier to speak freely (free association) without inhibition or censorship, about whatever  is in your mind. Some people find this helpful; others may prefer to sit face to face.
